So if yesterday was Good Friday, and tomorrow’s Easter, what’s today? Waiting Saturday? It’s apparently called Holy Saturday, but I didn’t know that until yesterday. The more you know, I guess.
But today is kind of a waiting day. The day creation held its breath, waiting for the resolution to a story that had become so sad, so apparently devoid of hope.
Speaking of waiting…. (yeah that’s right, I have transitions between paragraphs now!) right now, I think we’re all waiting. Waiting for our lives to go back to normal, to go back to school, or work, to get within six feet of our grandparents, to go back to our favorite nonessential business. I’m personally thinking I should have hid in the library when it closed and then lived in there until it reopened.
There’s a vending machine and water fountains. It could work.
I think the part that’s stressing me out the most is the uncertainty. We’re waiting, but for how long? We don’t know. Scientists and politicians make their best guess, but no one can say for sure. At least in my state, we’re still climbing the estimated curve. We’re still holding our breath, waiting for the resolution.
But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
-Isaiah 40:31
We might not know how long things’ll be like this, but God does. We know He keeps His promises, and we know He’s with us.
Waiting Saturday didn’t last forever, because God had a different plan. And no matter how long this waiting lasts for us, we know that God already has the end of the story written.
Here’s some pre-Easter art I drew the other day. I realized it kind of looks like a sleeping animal made out of rocks and now I can’t unsee it, but you gotta trust me, my reference photo was a tomb.
Happy Easter, y’all! Stay safe!
Happy Easter to you! 😀
(Haha great idea about the library. Shoulda thought of that myself. xD)

What a beautiful reminder! Thank you! ❤️ Love your art…even if it does look like some sort of sleeping creature. 😀
